CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from January 6 – 12, 2025.
Men's Basketball – Defensive
Eastern Oregon University's TJ Doman was named the CCC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Doman, a senior guard from Woodburn, Ore., helped the Mounties defeat The Evergreen State College (90-48) and Northwest University (86-57). He recorded 15 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks on top of 33 points in 59 total minutes played.
Men's Basketball – Offensive
(RV) Oregon Tech's Keegan Shivers was named the CCC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Shivers, a senior guard from Wilsonville, Ore., led the Owls to two wins over Warner Pacific University (64-56) and Multnomah (78-70). He shot 43.3 percent from the field with 41 points, 14 rebounds, a steal and two assists in 67 total minutes played.
Women's Basketball – Defensive
No. 13-ranked Lewis-Clark State College's Darian Herring was named the CCC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Herring, a sophmore forward from Deer Park, Wash., helped the Warriors to two victories over Bushnell University (71-50) and Corban University (94-48). She recorded 22 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 blocks, and five steals on top of 22 points in 56 total minutes played.
Women's Basketball – Offensive
No. 13-ranked Lewis-Clark State College's Sitara Byrd's was named the CCC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Byrd's, a junior forward from Spokane, Wash., led the Warriors to two wins over Bushnell University (71-50) and Corban University (94-48). She recorded a 65.0 field goal percentage with 33 total points. She also added 19 rebounds, nine steals, and seven assists in 58 total minutes played.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 5-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Landon Smith was named the CCC Men's Wrestler of the Week.
Smith (125lbs), a junior from Bethel, Alaska, is ranked 4th in his weight class and had a stellar weekend. He defeated five ranked opponents, all by decision, to help ERAU finish 6th at the NWCA National Duals.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon University's Carolina Moreno was named the CCC Women's Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.
Moreno (131lbs), a senior from Somerton, Ariz., is ranked at the top of her weight class and recorded her 100th career and 57 consecutive win at the NWCA National Duals. She wrestled up a weight class to pin No. 9 Cindy Zepeda at 138 pounds. She also defeated two ranked individuals at 131 without giving up a point, helping the Raiders to a fourth place finish.
