CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from January 13 – 19, 2025.
Men’s Basketball – Defensive
No. 5-ranked College of Idaho’s Tyler Robinett was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Robinett, a graduate student forward from Middleton, Idaho, helped the Yotes to three wins over Eastern Oregon University (89-61) Multnomah (98-88), and Warner Pacific University (95-45). He recorded 16 rebounds, 10 blocks, and a steal on top of 27 points in 62 total minutes played.
Men’s Basketball – Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Garrett Hawkes was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Hawkes, a junior guard from Ashton, Idaho, led the Mounties to two wins over Warner Pacific University (103-78) and Multnomah (105-80). He shot 62.2 percent from the field with 63 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, three blocks, and two steals in 93 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Defensive
No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Emma Schmerbach was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Schmerbach, a senior guard from Medford, Ore., helped the Raiders to two victories over No. 19-ranked Lewis-Clark State College (89-80) and Walla Walla University (87-44). She recorded 12 rebounds, six steals, and two blocks on top of 16 points in 51 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Offensive
College of Idaho’s Anna Mooney was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Mooney, a junior forward from Vancouver, Wash., led the Yotes to two wins over Eastern Oregon University (71-52) and Multnomah (79-66). She recorded a 66.7 field goal percentage with 54 total points. She also added 17 rebounds, two steals, and 12 assists in 95 total minutes played.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 18-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Darrian Hoobery was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Hoobery (285lbs), a junior from Weiser, Idaho, is ranked 17th in his weight class and had a stellar weekend at the Evergreen Open. He dominated the heavyweight division, tallying a perfect record en route to the championship. He opened the tournament with a technical fall victory over Julian Ortiz (Linfield) before securing back-to-back pins in the quarterfinals and semifinals. In the first-place match, Hoobery delivered a commanding 14-3 major decision over Garrett Olbrich (Pacific University) to claim the individual title.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
(RV) The Evergreen State College’s Flor Parker Borrero was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.
Parker Borrero (160lbs), a junior from Tacoma, Wash., is ranked No. 2 in her weight class and continued her undefeated streak this season. She picked up five victories over the weekend with two against CCC opponents in dual matches, Jocelyn Velasco of EOU and Kyree Rubio of Westcliff. She added three wins by pins to earn the individual championship at the Evergreen Open.
