Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Bushnell University volleyball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for October 6 – 12, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

Bushnell volleyball had an impressive stretch that included the biggest win in program history and a dominant road sweep. The Beacons now sit at 14-8 overall and 8-4 in CCC play, ranked fourth in the conference standings and receiving votes in the latest NAIA coaches’ poll.

Bushnell opened the week with a landmark five-set victory over No. 4-ranked Corban University (25-21, 19-25, 25-27, 25-16, 15-13), the highest-ranked opponent the Beacons have ever defeated. Behind a balanced attack and a strong presence at the net, Bushnell out-blocked the Warriors 14-8 and held them to a season-low .126 hitting percentage. Amyah Semau led with 15 kills and 13 digs, Leah Agost added 14 kills and seven blocks, and Soleil Sands hit .571 with eight kills and eight blocks. Emma Fa’alogo recorded a double-double with 29 assists and 15 digs, while Kailey Shirley anchored the defense with 14 digs and three service aces.

Less than 24 hours later, Bushnell carried its momentum into Portland, sweeping Warner Pacific University in straight sets (25-16, 25-13, 25-15). The Beacons hit a season-best .376 while holding the Knights to .012 and were not blocked once in the match. Hailey Heider paced the attack with 12 kills and 10 digs, Sands added nine kills, and Peyton Arland contributed eight. Julia Cook was a force from the service line with four of the team’s nine aces.

Up next, Bushnell will have a big weekend hosting No. 15-ranked College of Idaho and No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University.
