CALDWELL, Idaho - University of British Columbia’s Leighton Wright claimed medalist honors as an individual, and the Thunderbirds cruised to a wire-to-wire team victory at the Cascade Collegiate Conference CI Men’s Golf Fall Tournament, hosted by the College of Idaho at TimberStone Golf Course on October 13-14, 2025.
Wright posted rounds of 71, 68 and 69 to finish at 8-under-par 208, five shots clear of teammate Forrest Van Alstine, who carded back-to-back 68s after an opening 77 to finish at 213. UBC placed five golfers in the top five, with Aneesh Kaura, Jake Houston and Brett Stouffer all tying for third at 1-under 215.
The Thunderbirds led from the opening round and never looked back, finishing at 11-under 853 for the tournament. Oregon Tech finished second at 882, led by Kade Bracken and Cayson VanBeekum, who tied for eighth at 220. Issey Tanimura added a T-10 finish at 221.
Lewis-Clark State placed third at 887 and was paced by Lucas Ortega, who finished sixth at 218. The Warriors placed three golfers in the top 25, contributing to their strong team showing.
Host College of Idaho finished fourth at 910, led by Holden Howell, who tied for 10th at 221 while competing as an individual. Bushnell followed in fifth at 915, with Matt Forsyth leading the Beacons at 223 to tie for 14th.
Southern Oregon placed sixth at 921, with Ricky Reisner finishing seventh overall at 219. Corban’s Brayden Sparkman led the way for the Warriors, tying for 16th with rounds of 75, 73 and 76. Walla Walla’s Eddie Tache paced the Wolves with a T-21 finish, while Warner Pacific’s Alden Fay finished 30th to lead the Knights.
Players faced cold and rainy conditions early in the final round before the sun broke through midway, offering a brief reprieve as scores tightened across the leaderboard.
The tournament counts toward the CCC season standings and marked the final fall event for several programs. The next CCC Tournament will be held in the spring, April 13-14 hosted by Warner Pacific University.
