CALDWELL, Idaho - College of Idaho junior Reece Garey earned her first collegiate victory Tuesday, outlasting University of British Columbia’s Keira Hou in a two-hole playoff at the Cascade Collegiate Conference CI Women’s Golf Fall Tournament.
Garey led after the opening round with a 2-under-par 70 and followed with a 74 to finish at even-par 144. Hou, who opened with a 75, surged back with a tournament-best 69 to force the playoff. After both players made par on the first playoff hole, Hou bogeyed No. 11, and Garey calmly sank a four-foot par putt to secure the win. The victory marks her first collegiate title and second top finish of the season.
Athletes battled frigid and rainy conditions early in the final round before the sun broke through midway, offering brief relief as the leaders made their push toward the finish.

Southern Oregon finished fifth at 658, followed by Bushnell at 689, Walla Walla at 717 and Simpson at 721.
