Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The College of Idaho men’s and women’s cross country teams were named the Under Armour Teams of the Week for September 29 – October 5, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

Both the College of Idaho cross country teams had standout performances at the 50th annual Charles Bowles Invitational, hosted by Willamette University on Saturday. The Yotes made a strong statement against top-level competition, emerging as the top non-NCAA Division I programs in their respective races.

The C of I men turned in their best effort of the season, placing fourth overall in a deep 8K field that featured several NCAA Division I and II teams. All five scoring runners finished under 25 minutes to reach a milestone for the squad. Collin De Julio led the way, followed by Isaac AnttonenOclan RyanAshton Drage, and Cass Violett, as the Yotes recorded a team time of 2:03:08 (24:37 average). The only teams to finish ahead were Division I programs Portland, Idaho, and UC Santa Barbara.

The C of I women also impressed, taking sixth place overall in the 5K race and finishing as the top non-Division I team. Rozzlyn Cazier once again paced the group, with Julia GilbertPaiten BrasethKylee Quinton, and Ainsley Bowen rounding out the scoring five. The Yotes posted a total time of 1:31:17, averaging 18:15 per runner.

Up next, College of Idaho will wrap up its regular season with races in Idaho and Nebraska before turning its focus to the CCC Championships in Salem, Or., in one month.
