McDonald's Player of the Week, Presented by Urban Edge Network

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following nine Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their performances during competition from November 3 – November 9, 2025.

Men’s Basketball – Defensive Player
Corban University’s Anjay Cortez was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Cortez, a redshirt senior from Charlotte, N.C., made an impressive Corban debut. He posted 13 rebounds and six steals on top of 27 points in 63 minutes to help lead the Warriors to an outstanding opening weekend against top ranked opponents.

Men’s Basketball – Offensive Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s John Lustig was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Lustig, a senior guard from Colfax, Wash., had an outstanding weekend for the Warriors. He scored 44 points on a 69.6 shooting percentage on top of 16 rebounds in 59 minutes. He also added six assists, a steal, and a block in his overall efforts.

Women’s Basketball – Defensive Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Darian Herring was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Herring, a junior forward from Deer Park, Wash., helped lead the Warriors to two victories this weekend. She recorded 17 rebounds, five steals and three blocks in 56 minutes of action on top of 22 points and eight assists.

Women’s Basketball – Offensive Player
Oregon Tech’s Tatum Schmerbach was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Schmerbach, a junior guard from Medford, Ore., powered the Owls to two big wins, posting 51 points on a 50.0 shooting percentage while adding 16 assists, 16 rebounds, and four steals over 68 minutes of play.
 
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 20-ranked Corban University’s Jr Downing was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Downing (157lbs), a junior from Redmond, Ore., earned his second weight class tournament title of the season after earning two tech falls, a pin, and back-to-back decisions against NCAA DI wrestlers from Oregon State University.
 
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 4-ranked University of Providence’s Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Estrella-Beauchamp (131lbs), a senior from Kahului, Hawaii, pinned the No. 1 ranked returning national champion in her weight class at the Battle of the Rockies to finish her day 5-0 without allowing a point.
 
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 5-ranked Corban University’s Emma Bischoff was named the CCC Attacker of the Week for the fourth time this season.
 
Bischoff, a junior outside hitter from Medford, Ore., led the Warriors to two victories to close out the regular season, helping secure the No. 2 seed in the postseason championship. She posted 29 kills (4.14 k/s) with an impressive .404 attack percentage, while adding 24 digs, four blocks, four assists, and three service aces in a well-rounded performance.

Volleyball – Defender
No. 18-ranked College of Idaho’s Alexa Wheeler was named the CCC Defender of the Week.

Wheeler, a junior middle blocker from Spanish Fork, Utah led the Yotes to two victories to close out the regular season, helping secure the No. 4 seed in the postseason championship. She posted 18 blocks (2.25 b/s) and added six kills in a strong weekend performance.

Volleyball – Setter
No. 2-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kate Stidham was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
 
Stidham, a junior setter from Central Point, Ore., led the Mounties to two victories to close out the regular season with the championship title. She totaled 43 assists (7.17 a/s) along with eight digs and two service aces in a well-rounded performance.
