2025 CCC Volleyball Championship – Play In Rounds

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The lower seeds were victorious during the play in rounds of the 2025 CCC Volleyball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank.

No. 8 Seed Northwest University def. No. 5 Seed Lewis-Clark State College, 3-0
No. 8 seed Northwest advanced to the quarterfinals of the CCC Championship Tournament with a sweep over Lewis-Clark State (25-17, 25-22, 25-14). Aubree Dees and Delaney Sparks each led the Eagles with 12 kills, while Morgan Harter ran the offense with 40 assists and added a service ace. Ellie Van Berkum anchored the defense with 19 digs and Dees chipped in 12. Northwest hit an efficient .278 as a team with only nine attack errors while holding LC State to a .099 clip. The Eagles also held a 46-32 advantage in kills, earning their first win over the Warriors this season. Northwest will now head to the final site in La Grande, Ore., to face No. 3 seed Bushnell University in Thursday’s 2 p.m. quarterfinal. The Beacons earned two 3-1 victories over the Eagles during the regular season. Juliauna Forgach Aguilar paced the Warriors with nine kills. Lewis-Clark State ended its conference tournament run at 15-9 overall.

No. 7 Seed Walla Walla University def. No. 6 Seed Southern Oregon University, 3-2
No. 7 seed Walla Walla outlasted No. 6 seed Southern Oregon in a five-set thriller (17-25, 25-18, 25-20, 33-35, 15-12) to advance to the quarterfinals of the CCC Championship Tournament. Sahara Browning powered the Wolves with 22 kills and 17 digs, while Yaimaris Garcia dished out 53 assists and added three aces. Vicky Giardina tallied 18 digs, and Catalina Gutierrez Sebastia contributed seven blocks in a strong all-around team performance. Walla Walla led in nearly every statistical category, including kills (69-50), assists (60-46), and digs (71-50). Despite the loss the Raiders battled hard, forcing a decisive fifth set after taking the fourth frame 35-33. The victory marked the first postseason win in Walla Walla program history. The Wolves now advance to the final site in La Grande, Ore., where they will face No. 4 seed College of Idaho in Thursday’s 5 p.m. quarterfinal. C of I and WWU split its regular season matchups. SOU was paced by 13 kills and 13 digs from Andressa Ribeiro Soares. Southern Oregon ended its conference tournament run at 14-14 overall.
