LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 16-ranked Corban University Men's Wrestling team opened their 2025-26 regular season earlier today at the Mountaineer Duals, hosted by fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) member Eastern Oregon University in the EOU Field House. The Warriors participated in two head-to-head duals, the first with a junior college where the team scoring is not eligible for NAIA scoring, while the second came in a 46-3 loss to No. 14-ranked University of Providence in a matchup where the Navy and Gold were forced to forfeit three of the ten weight classes and struggled to find answers in the remaining seven bouts against a CCC heavyweight in the Argos.
The lone Warrior who was able to pick up a winning decision in his weight class was senior Blake Runion at 141lbs, as he earned a hard-fought 1-0 decision over Argos' Jesse Anson to pick up the team's only three points of the dual. Runion wrestled up a weight class for his bout with Anson, as he's currently ranked as the No. 13-overall grappler for 133lbs in the NAIA.
Senior Bo Davis and redshirt sophomore Jesse Rubio were the only other members of the Navy and Gold to nearly earn victories today in La Grande, as Davis dropped a 6-2 decision to Providence's Cade White, while Rubio fell in sudden victory, 4-1, against Blaze Sumiye.
