Coe scores 20 in loss to River Otters

PORTLAND, Ore. — After a rough first quarter, the Walla Walla Women's Basketball team played competitively against NCAA Division III opponent Lewis & Clark in an 88-47 loss on Saturday.

The River Otters (2-2) scored the first 22 points of the game before Jaylo Bello got Walla Walla (1-2) on the board nearly seven and a half minutes into the game. Lewis & Clark led after the first quarter 26-4.

The Wolves kept each of the following three quarters closer, but were unable to outscore their opponent in any frame.

Brooklyn Coe led the way with 20 points. Jaylo Bello added 17 points and Sidney Folkenberg had 10 rebounds and four steals.

Ali McCauley and Madilyn Palosi scored 11 points each for the River Otters in a game where 15 different players scored.

UP NEXT

Walla Walla travels to Salem, Ore. to play another NCAA Division III school, Willamette, at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
