The following six Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their performances during competition from November 17 – November 23, 2025.
Men’s Basketball – Defensive Player
Corban University’s Anjay Cortez was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Cortez, a redshirt senior guard from Charlotte, N.C., helped lead the Warriors to a two win weekend. He recorded a double-double in each game, tallying 22 rebounds (11 reb/g) and 29 points (14.5 ppg). He added four steals and a block in 66 minutes of action.
Men’s Basketball – Offensive Player
Warner Pacific University’s Jurrien Sparks was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Sparks, a senior forward from Castro Valley, Calif., delivered an outstanding performance in the Knights’ 73-71 win over Linfield University. He scored 26 points on 66.7 shooting percentage, went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, and added six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 38 minutes of play.
Women’s Basketball – Defensive Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Darian Herring was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Herring, a junior forward from Deer Park, Wash., posted double-doubles in both Warriors’ games over the weekend. She totaled 24 rebounds (12 reb/g) and 31 points (15.5 ppg) while also adding 10 blocks, nine assists, and three steals in a strong all-around performance.
Women’s Basketball – Offensive Player
College of Idaho’s Kylie Waltermeyer was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Waltermeyer, a junior forward from Turnwater, Wash., powered the Yotes to a 2-0 weekend. She posted 30 points, shooting 57.1 percent and shot 54.5 percent from the three, draining six total in just 50 minutes of play. She also added 19 rebounds and six assists in the strong performances.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Asher Ruchti was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Ruchti (197lbs), a senior from Springfield, Ore., is ranked No. 2 nationally and won a top-five matchup in overtime against Life's Gio Jackson to claim an individual title at the Lucha Open. The All-American went 4-0 with a pair of Top 25 wins at the tournament.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 4-ranked University of Providence’s Joely Slyter was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
Slyter (117lbs), a freshman from Lewiston, Idaho, is ranked No. 10 nationally and went 4-0 to finish in first-place at the Spokane Open, defeating No. 15 Gloria Diaz 10-0 in the championship match. She won all her matches by technical falls to outscore her opponents 40-0 at the tournament.
