2025 CCC Cross Country Championships Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, are set to take off tomorrow at Oak Knoll Golf Course in Independence, Ore., hosted by Corban University. The women’s 6k will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s 8k at 11 a.m.

Women’s Preview
The reigning conference champions, College of Idaho, enter the weekend ranked No. 5 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Rating. The Yotes have claimed three team titles this season and earned multiple CCC Under Armour Team of the Week honors.
 
Eastern Oregon University sits at No. 16, followed by Southern Oregon University at No. 18 and Lewis-Clark State College at No. 22. Oregon Tech and Corban University also received votes in the most recent national rating, with the final rating set to be released Tuesday, Nov. 11.
 
Bushnell University, The Evergreen State College, Northwest University, Trinity Western University, and Walla Walla University round out the competitive women’s field.
 
Individually, Alauna Carstens of Evergreen State has led the CCC all season, ranking No. 2 nationally with a time of 16:59.4 and earning three NAIA Runner of the Week awards. Riley Morris of Eastern Oregon ranks No. 5 in the NAIA with a mark of 17:24.0. Other top contenders include Rozzlyn Cazier of College of Idaho (17:39.8), Damaris Kibiwot of LC State (17:44.0), and Alyssa Johnson of Southern Oregon (17:45.2).
 
Men’s Preview
On the men’s side, Southern Oregon University enters ranked No. 9 in the latest NAIA Rating and has claimed two team titles this season. The Raiders are led by Carter Stedman (23:47.9) and Mason Weisgerber (23:49.4), who hold the third and fifth fastest times in the NAIA this fall.
 
Eastern Oregon University follows closely at No. 10, while defending CCC and NAIA national champion College of Idaho ranks No. 12. Trinity Western University, in its first season competing in the NAIA, has quickly made its mark at No. 15. The Spartans boast Yemane Mulugeta, who holds the fastest time in the NAIA this season at 23:34.1, and Justin Kiplagat, who ranks third with a time of 23:47.9.
 
Corban University rounds out the CCC’s ranked men’s programs at No. 20, led by Jack Gladfelter (23:49.7), while Northwest University received votes. Bushnell University, The Evergreen State College, Lewis-Clark State College, Oregon Tech, Warner Pacific University, and Walla Walla University are also set to compete.
 
 
While the weather may pose a challenge, it’s nothing our Pacific Northwest runners aren’t prepared for. With several nationally ranked programs and top individual performers in the field, both races are expected to be highly competitive from start to finish.
 
The top 15 individual finishers will earn All-Conference honors, and the team champions will receive the CCC’s automatic bid to the 2025 NAIA Cross Country National Championships.
