SPOKANE, Wash. — The Walla Walla Men's Basketball team lost to NCAA Division III opponent Whitworth 92-47 on the road at the Whitworth Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Reese Snellman led the Wolves (0-2) with 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Jordan Jackson added 11 points and Soren Dalan had three blocks.
Six players scored in double figures for the Pirates (1-0) led by Colton Looney with 14. Dylan Westermeyer had 13 points and Ben Nyquist added 11 on the board. Caden Bateman, Stephen Behil and Jamison Atwood each contributed 10 points each.
Walla Walla got on the board first and led by three four minutes into the contest, but the home team found its footing and made 10 3-pointers and held the Wolves to 28.1% shooting from the field. The last lead for WWU came with 12:14 left in the first half on an offensive tip-in by Dalan. Whitworth connected on a 3 just 12 seconds later and did not give up the lead again.
Eight of the nine players that saw the floor for Walla Walla added their name to the score line and the Wolves scored 17 points off the bench.
