Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – (RV) Southern Oregon University Women’s Basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for December 15 – 21, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

Southern Oregon posted a pair of impressive victories, highlighted by a win over a top-25 opponent and the extension of a historic conference winning streak.

SOU opened the weekend with a statement 57-50 victory over No. 18-ranked Corban University on Friday at home. The Raiders defense once again set the tone, holding the Warriors to 33 points below their season scoring average and limiting them to 36 percent shooting, including just 3-of-24 from beyond the arc. Senior guard Bridgette McIntyre led the way with 18 points and four assists. Keeley Wright added 11 points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists, while the Raiders forced 22 turnovers to secure their first ranked win of the season.

Southern Oregon followed with a dominant 70-55 win over Bushnell on Saturday, marking its 40th consecutive Cascade Conference victory. Eliza DiGiulio delivered a career performance, scoring a career high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting while knocking down five three-pointers. The Raiders used a decisive 12-0 run to open the second half and held Bushnell to just seven points in the third quarter, forcing seven turnovers in the period. Lydia Traore provided a strong spark off the bench with 11 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and two blocks, while McIntyre contributed 10 points and a career-high eight assists. Southern Oregon once again controlled the defensive end, forcing 20 turnovers on top of 48 rebounds.

With the two wins, the Raiders improved to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in CCC play, extending their home winning streak to 22 games and continuing a defensive stretch that has seen 10 consecutive opponents held under 60 points.

Southern Oregon will open the new year on the road with a ranked matchup at No. 15-ranked Lewis-Clark State College on January, 2nd.
