CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 14 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from February 10 – 16, 2025.
Men’s Basketball – Defensive
(RV) Lewis-Clark State College’s Alton Hamilton was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Hamilton, a sophomore forward from Fontana, Calif., helped the Warriors to two big wins over No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech (87-80) and Southern Oregon University (84-79). Over the weekend he recorded 26 rebounds, a steal and a block on top of 44 points in 71 total minutes played.
Men’s Basketball – Offensive
(RV) Lewis-Clark State College’s John Lustig was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Lustig, a junior guard from Colfax, Wash., led the Warriors to two stellar wins over No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech (87-80) and Southern Oregon University (84-79). He shot an outstanding 64 percent from the field with 40 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a block in 70 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Defensive
The Evergreen State College’s Jalyn Sackrider was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Sackrider, a senior forward from Elma, Wash., helped the Geoducks to two victories over Bushnell University (70-47) and Corban University (64-53). She recorded 18 rebounds, 14 blocks, and two steals on top of 27 points in 65 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Brie Holecek was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Holecek, a senior forward from Spokane, Wash., had a huge weekend for the Mounties, helping lead to two wins over Multnomah (81-54) and Warner Pacific University (89-54). She recorded an outstanding 68 field goal percentage with 44 points. She also added 13 rebounds, four steals, and three assists in 66 total minutes played.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 6-ranked University of Providence’s Blaze Sumiye was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Sumiye (165lbs), a sophomore from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, had a stellar weekend for the Argos. He upset No. 13 Travis Waldner of No. 13-ranked MSU-Northern in the second overtime period (7-5) to help UP win the dual, 23-28.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Marissa Kurtz was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
Kurtz (117lbs), a senior from Sweet Home, Ore., is ranked No. 8 in her weight class. This weekend, she won by forfeit and by fall as SOU closed the regular season with back-to-back dual wins over Simpson University and Menlo College.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Maxximus Richmond was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Richmond, a junior runner from Spokane, Wash., had a speedy weekend at the EOU Last Chance Invite. He finished first in the 600m with a time of 1:21.31 for an “A” Standard which currently ranks No. 8 in the NAIA this season and set a personal record. He also helped the 4x800 relay reach an “A” Standard and finish first with a time of 7:52.94.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Tyler Jones was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Jones, a senior from Richland, Wash., had a successful weekend at the EOU Last Chance Invite. He achieved the top mark in the heptathlon with a mark of 4929, reaching an “A” Standard which is currently ranked No. 8 in the NAIA this season. He also finished first in the high jump with a mark of 2.04m, recording a “B” Standard.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
The Evergreen State College’s Alauna Carstens was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Carstens, a junior runner from Shelton, Wash., achieved two “A” Standards at the UW Husky Classic. She finished the 3000 meter race with a time of 9:40.70 and the mile run with a time of 4:57.58. Her marks currently rank at No. 3 and No. 7 in the NAIA this season, respectively.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Adrienne Washington was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Washington, a senior jumper from Lewiston, Idaho, had a fantastic outing at the EOU Last Chance Invite. She finished as the top competitor in the high jump with a mark of 1.74m to record an “A” Standard which currently ranks No. 5 in the NAIA this season. She also finished second in the long jump with a mark of 5.65m to reach a “B” Standard.
Baseball – Player
Oregon Tech’s Julien Jones was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
Jones, a senior outfielder from Washougal, Wash., had an outstanding week for OIT, helping the Owls to two wins over Simpson University. He recorded five hits, a double and four homeruns for a .556 batting average and an incredible 2.000 slugging percentage. Across the weekend he tallied five runs and five RBIs. Defensively he managed a perfect fielding percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Jackson Cummins was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Cummins, a junior from Murtaugh, Idaho, had a fantastic performance on the mound against Embry-Riddle, leading the Yotes to a 12-4 victory. In five innings he did not allow an earned run and only gave up four hits while striking out five batters for a perfect ERA.
Softball – Player
Bushnell University’s Violet Richardson was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
Richardson, a sophomore infielder from Canyonville, Ore., had a terrific outing, helping lead the Beacons to a 3-2 week. She recorded nine hits, including two doubles and two home runs for a .563 batting average and a 1.063 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied seven RBIs and four runs while defensively holding a perfect fielding percentage.
Softball – Pitcher
Southern Oregon University’s Ayla Davies was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Davies, a freshman from Burns, Ore., had an outstanding performance on the mound against Hawaii Pacific, leading the Raiders to a 5-0 shutout. In seven total innings pitched, she did not allow an earned run and gave up just one hit while striking out 10 batters for a perfect ERA.
