KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kacie Schmidt of Oregon Tech has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week. She was selected based on her performances from February 17 – 23, 2025 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Schmidt was dominant in the circle for the Owls last week as they traveled to the Sooner state. She helped OIT go 5-1 against nationally-ranked teams tossing shutout wins against Freed-Hardeman and No. 2 Science and Arts. Schmidt tallied 21.2 innings pitched allowing just two runs with nine walks while striking out 28 batters for a .32 ERA.
This weekend, Oregon Tech opens the 2025 CCC season against Eastern Oregon University.
