CORVALLIS, Ore. – The eight seeds of the 2024-25 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, were announced Saturday and the quarterfinal action tips off Wednesday.
The CCC tournament takes place on Feb. 26, March 1, and 4, with the quarterfinal round taking place at the top-four seeds’ home courts. The highest remaining seeds will host the lower seeds with a trip to the NAIA National Tournament on the line.
#1 Southern Oregon University vs. #8 The Evergreen State College
Southern Oregon won the regular-season title with an undefeated 22-0 conference record to pick up the first seed in the tournament. The Raiders are boasting an unscathed season with 28 consecutive wins and host eighth-seeded Evergreen State, who survived with a 8-14 CCC mark. SOU swept the regular-season series between the teams. Southern Oregon leads the conference in scoring margin (+23.5), field goal percentage (.492), and 3-point field goal percentage (.385).
#2 Oregon Tech vs. #7 Corban University
Oregon Tech earned the second seed after ending the regular season with a 18-4 record. OIT will host Corban, which picked up the seven seed with a 9-13 conference mark. The Owls defeated the Warriors twice this season. OIT has the highest rebounding margin (+12.7) and assists (17.9 Avg/G) in the CCC.
#3 Lewis-Clark State College vs. #6 Bushnell University
Third seed Lewis-Clark State will host sixth seed Bushnell in the quarterfinals. LC State went 17-5 in CCC play while the Beacons competed the conference season with a 10-12 record. LCSC won both regular season games over Bushnell. The Warriors lead the CCC in blocked shots (5.2 Avg/G) and steals (12.4 Avg/G).
#4 Eastern Oregon University vs. #5 College of Idaho
After securing the fourth seed, Eastern Oregon will host College of Idaho who landed in the fifth seed. EOU finished conference with a 15-7 record while C of I held a 14-8 mark. The Yotes defeated the Mounties in both match ups this season. EOU ranks second in the CCC in free throw percentage (.779), 3-point field goal percentage (.347), and assists (17.7 Avg/G).
Whichever team wins the conference championship will earn the CCC's second Automatic Qualifier to the National Tournament. If SOU advances to the final their opponent will earn the other AQ. The 44th Annual Women’s Basketball National Championship is set for March 20-25, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, with first rounds beginning March 14, at campus sites.
