CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following 12 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from March 3 – 9, 2025.
Baseball – Player
University of British Columbia’s Jonny McGill was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
McGill, a senior outfielder from Richmond, B.C., had a tremendous weekend for the Thunderbirds, helping lead UBC to a series sweep over College of Idaho. He recorded 10 hits, a double and two homeruns for a .526 batting average and a .895 slugging percentage. Across the weekend he tallied nine runs and seven RBIs. Defensively he managed a .875 fielding percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
No. 24-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Jadon Williamson was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Williamson, a senior from Longview, Wash., had a fantastic performance on the mound against Eastern Oregon University, leading LC State to a 11-3 victory. In seven innings he did not let up a run and only allowed six hits while striking out 15 batters for a perfect ERA and a .86 WHIP.
Softball – Player
No. 2-ranked Oregon Tech’s Gina Allen was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
Allen, a sophomore shortstop from Portland, Ore., had an outstanding outing for the Owls, helping lead to a series sweep of University of Providence. She recorded eight hits, including a triple and a homerun for a .571 batting average and a .929 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied six runs and 10 RBIs while defensively holding a perfect fielding percentage.
Softball – Pitcher
University of British Columbia’s Carleen Murray was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Murray, a junior from White Rock, B.C., had a terrific performance on the mound for UBC in their long 12 inning 2-0 victory over Warner Pacific University. She set the new CCC single game record with 25 total strikeouts. She did not allow a run while only letting up two hits in the complete game shutout for a perfect ERA and a .33 WHIP.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
University of British Columbia’s Aidan Schumer was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Schumer (69-69-76 – 214), a senior from Columbus, Ohio, finished in third place at the RMC Intercollegiate out of 41 total golfers. His weekend was highlighted by the first two rounds where he carded two 3-under pars.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
University of British Columbia’s Grace Bell was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Bell (74-72-75 – 221), a senior from Calgary, Alta., finished second at the RMC Intercollegiate out of 45 total golfers. Her weekend was highlighted by the second round where she shot an even par.
Beach Volleyball – Pair
No. 2-ranked Corban University’s Jessica McMillian & Emmi Marks were named the CCC Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.
The senior and junior duo recorded three wins during the second CCC regular season tournament as the three pair. They defeated opponents from No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon University twice by final scores of 3-2 (21-13, 23-21) and 5-0 (22-20, 21-15). They started their weekend with a 5-0 (21-7, 21-18) sweep of Simpson University as well. They were the only Warrior pair to complete two different set sweeps and improved their record to 7-1 on the year.
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Northwest University’s Josiah Jaquith was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Jaquith, a freshman runner from Kirkland, Wash., showed out at the PLU Open. He won the 1,500m with a time of 4:02.51 against 23 other athletes. He also placed fifth in the 5000m with a time of 15:46.18
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Bushnell University’s Kaleo Wellman was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Wellman, a sophomore jumper from Lebanon, Ore., kept his momentum after his recent NAIA Indoor National Runner-up finish. He finished first out of 34 in the long jump with a mark of 7.33m to reach an NAIA “B” Standard. His jump set a new school record and currently ranks at the top of the NAIA this season.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Corban University’s Kirsten Kuenzi was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Kuenzi, a sophomore runner from Silverton, Ore., won the 100m. She competed against 37 other athletes at the Rich Allen Classic and recorded a time of 12.67.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
The Evergreen State College’s Corona Parker was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Parker, a senior jumper from Tualatin, Ore., finished first at the PLU Open. She recorded a mark of 1.66m in the high jump to reach an NAIA “B” Standard which currently ranks at the top of NAIA this season. Her jump also broke her personal and school record.
