NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Carleen Murray of University of British Columbia has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week. She was selected based on her performances from March 3-10 and was chosen from a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Murray, a junior from White Rock, B.C., had a terrific performance on the mound for UBC in their long 12 inning 2-0 victory over Warner Pacific University. She set the new CCC single game record with 25 total strikeouts. She did not allow a run while only letting up two hits in the complete game shutout for a perfect ERA and a .33 WHIP. In game two, Murray ran it back, striking out six batters in four innings pitched, averaging 13.56 strikeouts per seven innings in the doubleheader.

The Thunderbirds are set to continue conference play against No. 14-ranked Eastern Oregon University this weekend.
