CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Southern Oregon University’s men’s basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 10 – 16, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

This week, Southern Oregon started a historic run with upsets in the first and second rounds of the 2025 NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament. They began their journey with an at large bid and are now one of two No. 11 seeds to advance while no other team at the final site will be seeded lower than No. 7.

On Friday, Southern Oregon edged out Montana Tech in the first round of the NAIA Tournament by a final score of 84-81. Gabe Reichle tallied 21 points to lead the Raiders. Elijah Jackson added 19 points and Joe Juhala made 12 points. SOU recorded a 12-of-22 performance from 3-point range which enabled them to build a 22-point lead, and they made six consecutive free throws over the final 13 seconds. The Raiders shot 55 percent and committed just seven turnovers.

The next day, the Raiders came out just as strong to defeat The Master's, in the second round of the NAIA Tournament by a final score of 76-71. Bryce Dyer tallied 19 points, six rebounds, a steal, and an assist to lead the Raiders. SOU shot 45.3 percent from the field and added 37 rebounds. It was a close contest with the score tied with 37 seconds remaining before the Raiders earned the victory.

For the first time in 10 years, SOU won back-to-back national tournament games.

Next up, Southern Oregon will face Keiser (Fla.), a No. 7 seed, at 1 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri at the final site next Friday with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
