CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following 10 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from March 10 – 16, 2025.
Baseball – Player
Bushnell University’s Cade Crist was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
Crist, a senior first baseman from Springfield, Ore., had a tremendous weekend for the Beacons, helping lead Bushnell to three wins over College of Idaho and a non-conference victory over Linfield. He recorded seven hits and five homeruns for a .389 batting average and a 1.222 slugging percentage. Across the weekend he tallied five runs and 13 RBIs. He tied Bushnell's single-game record with six RBIs. Defensively he managed a .976 fielding percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
Bushnell University’s Braden Proud was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Proud, a junior from Orangevale, Calif., had a fantastic performance on the mound against College of Idaho, leading to a 5-2 victory. In seven innings he did not let up an earned run and only allowed three hits while striking out seven batters for a perfect ERA and a .43 WHIP.
Softball – Player
No. 24-ranked College of Idaho’s Lena Zahniser was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
Zahniser, a junior infielder from Bend, Ore., had an outstanding outing for the Yotes, helping lead to a series sweep of Corban University. She recorded five hits, including two doubles and a homerun for a .625 batting average and a 1.250 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied two runs and eight RBIs while defensively holding a perfect fielding percentage.
Softball – Pitcher
No. 14-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kylie Parsons was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Parsons, a senior from Pendleton, Ore., had a terrific performance on the mound for EOU in their series sweep over University of British Columbia. She did not allow a run or walk in two shutout victories with 15 strikeouts across 13 innings, only allowing five hits for a perfect ERA and a .38 WHIP.
Beach Volleyball – Pair
No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Madi Gray & Tessa Zimmermann were named the CCC Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.
The senior and sophomore duo recorded three wins during another CCC regular season tournament as the first pair. They swept opponents from Northwest University twice and from No. 10-ranked College of Idaho by a final score of 4-1 (21-15, 21-19). They duo now holds a 5-1 CCC record this season.
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Southern Oregon University’s Mason Weisgerber was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Weisgerber, a sophomore runner from Wilsonville, Ore., showed out at the Lane Titan Open. He took second in the 1500m with a time of 4:00.95 against 38 other athletes.
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Mark Church was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Church, a junior thrower from Fruitland, Idaho, had a successful weekend at the Nighthawks Opener. He finished first out of 26 athletes in the discus with a mark of 49.57m to reach an NAIA “B” Standard.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Skotlyn Hill was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Hill, a senior runner from Logandale, Nev., won the 400m hurdles at the Nighthawks Opener. She reached an NAIA “B” Standard with a time of 1:02.86.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Adrienne Washington was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Washington, a senior from Lewiston, Idaho, had a dominant weekend at the Nighthawks Opener. She reached first place with an NAIA “B” Standard in the high jump with a mark of 1.67m, second place in the javelin with a mark of 37.61m, and 9th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 20.13.
