CORVALLIS, Ore. – The College of Idaho men’s basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 17 – 23, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
This week, top ranked College of Idaho continued another dominant run at the final site of the National Championship Tournament.
On Thursday, College of Idaho defeated Langston University by a final score of 95-65 in the round of 16. Junior guard Samaje Morgan commanded the offense with 18 points, eight assists, and four steals to lead the Yotes. C of I forced 13 Langston turnovers, leading to 20 points on the other end and dominated in transition, racking up 36 fastbreak points while limiting Langston to just three made three-pointers on 18 attempts.
On Saturday, the Yotes came out just as strong to defeat Georgetown in the semifinals by a final score of 83-71. Morgan finished with a game-high 21 points, four assists, and two steals, while Drew Wyman delivered a crucial double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. C of I capitalized on nine Tiger turnovers, turning them into 20 points while controlling the glass with a 37-31 rebounding advantage.
College of Idaho moves on to Monday's Fab Four, where they will continue their pursuit of another national championship.
