CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 10 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from March 17 – 23, 2025.
 
Baseball – Player
Eastern Oregon University’s Mario Landeros was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Landeros , a senior catcher from Corona, Calif., had a tremendous weekend for the Mounties, helping lead to a 11-9 upset over No. 20-ranked Lewis-Clark State College. Over the week he recorded eight hits, including two doubles and two homeruns for a .636 batting average and a 1.364 slugging percentage. He also added three runs and six RBIs while earning a .667 on base percentage. He was perfect on defense to round out his impressive performances.

Baseball – Pitcher
Bushnell University’s Kai Keamo was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Keamo, a junior from Waianae, Hawaii, had a fantastic performance on the mound against Warner Pacific University, leading to a huge 17-0 shutout. In five innings he did not let up a run and only allowed three hits while striking out a career-high 10 batters for a perfect ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.
 
Softball – Player
No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Ari Williams was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
 
Williams, a junior outfielder from San Leandro, Calif., had an outstanding outing for the Raiders, helping lead to a series sweep of University of Providence. She recorded seven hits, including a double, two triples, and a homerun for a .636 batting average and a 1.364 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied two runs and nine RBIs while adding two stolen bases and a .636 on base percentage. She was perfect on defense to round out her impressive performances.

Softball – Pitcher
No. 2-ranked Oregon Tech’s Kacie Schmidt was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

Schmidt, a senior from Beaverton, Ore., had a terrific performance on the mound for OIT in their series sweep over Bushnell University. She allowed just one earned run and four hits across 14.2 innings with 18 strikeouts for a .48 ERA and a .55 WHIP.

Beach Volleyball – Pair
No. 2-ranked Corban University’s Jessica McMillian & Emmi Marks were named the CCC Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.

The senior and junior duo recorded four wins during another CCC regular season tournament as the third pair. They swept both their opponents from Northwest University and No. 10-ranked College of Idaho. They duo did not drop a single set and remained undefeated at 11-0.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
University of British Columbia’s James Kerr was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Kerr, a sophomore runner from Burlington, Ont., had an outstanding week. He finished first in the 400m with a time of 47.54 to reach an NAIA “B” Standard. He then earned an NAIA “A” Standard with a fourth place finish in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:13.03. Keer capped off his weekend with another “B” Standard in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.87 which currently ranks at the top of the NAIA.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
University of British Columbia’s Daniel Smart-Reed was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Smart-Reed, a junior thrower from Toronto, Ont., had a successful weekend at the Willie Williams Classic. He finished fourth out of 36 athletes in the javelin with a personal best mark of 65.62m to reach an “A” Standard which currently ranks at the top of the NAIA.

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
The Evergreen State College’s Alauna Carstens was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Carstens, a junior runner from Shelton, Wash., won the 5000m at the Oregon Preview. She reached an NAIA “A” Standard with a time of 16:58.27 which currently ranks second in the NAIA.

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
University of British Columbia’s Sonya Urbanowicz was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Urbanowicz, a junior from Nanaimo, B.C., had a dominant weekend at the Willie Williams Classic. She reached second place with an “A” Standard in the pole vault with a mark of 4.10m which currently ranks at the top of the NAIA.
