CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following seven Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from February 24 – March 2, 2025.
Baseball – Player
Oregon Tech’s Tyler Horner was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
Horner, a senior catcher from Twin Falls, Idaho, had an outstanding week for the Owls series sweep over Corban University. He recorded nine hits, a double and three home runs for a .563 batting average and an incredible 1.188 slugging percentage. Across the weekend he tallied six runs and 12 RBIs. Defensively he managed a perfect fielding percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Oliver Massie was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Massie, a junior from Boise, Idaho, had a fantastic performance on the mound against Eastern Oregon University, leading C of I to a 10-9 victory. In five innings he did not let up a run and only allowed four hits while striking out eight batters for a perfect ERA.
Softball – Player
College of Idaho’s Madelyn Powell was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
Powell, a junior outfielder from McMinnville, Ore., had a terrific outing, helping the Yotes to a series split with Carroll College. She recorded nine hits, including a double, a triple, and three home runs for a .563 batting average and a 1.313 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied six runs and nine RBIs while defensively holding a perfect fielding percentage.
Softball – Pitcher
Southern Oregon University’s Ayla Davies was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.
Davies, a freshman from Burns, Ore., had an outstanding performance on the mound for SOU in their series sweep against Warner Pacific University. In 13 total innings pitched, she did not allow a run while only letting up five hits and striking out 23 batters for a perfect ERA.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Lewis-Clark State College’s Isabella Barquet was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Barquet (82-71 – 153), a sophomore from Cordoba, Mexico, tied for third place at The Trailblazer. After an 82 in the first round on the difficult course, she carded a 1-under, 71 in one of two under-par rounds in the tournament.
Beach Volleyball – Pair
No. 2-ranked Corban University’s Alexis Adebodun & Gabi Engels were named the CCC Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.
The junior and freshmen duo recorded two wins during the opening CCC regular season weekend as the fourth pair. They defeated opponents from No. 10-ranked College of Idaho 4-1 (21-16, 21-12) and Northwest University 5-0 (21-7, 21-9).
