2024-25 CCC Women’s Basketball Postseason Awards Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2024-25 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball postseason awards were announced Wednesday by the conference office.
 
No. 2-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Morgan Baird was named the Player of the Year. Eliza DiGiulio of Southern Oregon earned 6th Women of the Year. Emma Schmerbach of Southern Oregon and Jalyn Sackrider of The Evergreen State College were voted as Co-Defensive Players of the Year. Jersey Huerta of Multnomah earned Freshman of the Year. Southern Oregon head coach Carlotta Kloppenburg-Pruitt was named the Coach of the Year. Corban University received the Team Sportsmanship Award.
   
Baird, a senior forward from Coquille, Ore., had a fantastic final season for the Raiders. She led the conference in field goal percentage at .588 and scored 338 points, averaging 16.1 per game which ranked second in the CCC. She helped SOU remain undefeated and ranked on the NAIA Coaches’ Poll throughout the year. Baird was named the last CCC Offensive Player of the Week for the season.
 
DiGiulio a junior forward was a key asset off the bench for the SOU squad. The Portland, Ore., native utilized her role, finishing fourth in field goal percentage in the CCC at .538.
 
Schmerbach, a senior guard from Medford Ore., had a stellar defensive run for the Raiders, recorded 135 rebounds (6.1 avg/g) in conference play. She also added 35 steals (10th in CCC) and 18 blocked shots (11th in CCC). This season she secured two CCC Defender of the Week honors.

Sackrider, a senior forward from Elma, Wash., anchored a balanced defense for Evergreen State, leading the Geoducks to new heights. She ranked at the top of the CCC in blocked shots with 65 (3 avg/g) and third in rebounds with 199 (9 avg/g) in conference action. This season she secured two CCC Defender of the Week honors.

Huerta quickly made her mark on the Lion squad. The guard from Kent, Wash., led the conference in her first year with 438 points (19.9 avg/g). She also ranked second in free throw percentage (.888), sixth in assists (3.9 avg/g), and seventh in 3-points made (39).
 
Kloppenburg-Pruitt led the Raiders to back-to-back regular season and tournament titles as they head into the NAIA Tournament without a loss all season. This is her third time receiving the honor in her fourth year at the helm of the SOU program.
