CALDWELL, Idaho — The final regular season weekend of Cascade Collegiate Conference beach volleyball began Friday at the College of Idaho Beach Courts, where four teams braved sun and strong winds in Caldwell for a full slate of conference matchups.
Southern Oregon (12-7, 10-3 CCC) opened its day with a dominant 5-0 sweep of Simpson University (0-13, 0-13 CCC). The Raiders rolled through four straight-set victories, including a commanding 21-9, 21-12 win by Perez and Ribeiro Soares on court four. The fifth flight was claimed by forfeit.
College of Idaho (8-5, 8-5 CCC) followed with a clean 5-0 win over Northwest University (5-8, 5-8 CCC). The Yotes took all five pairs, with standout performances across the lineup. Haley Hoopes and Sydney Dews led the way at the top spot with a 21-17, 21-18 win, while the No. 4 and No. 5 duos both rallied for three-set victories.
Northwest bounced back in its second dual of the day, sweeping Simpson 5-0 behind solid performances at all five spots. The closest match came at No. 4, where Sophia Rice and Oriana Muliaga edged out a tight three-set win, 18-21, 23-21, 15-13.
In the day's most competitive showdown, Southern Oregon outlasted College of Idaho 3-2. The Raiders jumped out to a 3-0 lead after clinching the first three matches to secure the win before the Yotes mounted a comeback. Maya Blake and Liza Montalbo dominated on court three, and Hoopes and Dews closed strong at the No. 1 spot with a 20-22, 21-18, 15-11 victory.
