2025 CCC Softball Postseason Awards Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference softball postseason awards were announced Thursday by the conference office.
 
Nita Cook of No. 2-ranked Oregon Tech was named the Player of the Year. No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Ayla Davies earned Pitcher of the Year. Co-Newcomers of the Year were awarded to Raygun Klippert of No. 14-ranked Eastern Oregon University and Kasidy Yeoman of University of Providence. Oregon Tech’s head coach Greg Stewart was named the Coach of the Year. University of British Columbia received the Team Sportsmanship Award for the second consecutive year.
   
Cook, a junior second baseman from Vernonia, Ore., had a remarkable season for OIT. She led the Owls to their fourth straight conference title and enters the postseason with a .409 batting average and 65 hits, both ranking third in the CCC while also leading the conference with 54 runs scored. Additionally, she ranks second in stolen bases with 40 and committed just one error all season, resulting in a .994 fielding percentage. Her performance was key in keeping Oregon Tech nationally ranked throughout the season, as the team finished conference play with a 23-4 record.
 
Davies delivered an exceptional freshman campaign on the mound, playing a key role in Southern Oregon’s share of the conference title. She led the CCC in pitching with a 0.98 ERA and 205 strikeouts, both ranking fifth in the NAIA. The Burns, Ore., native also led the conference with 27 wins (1st in NAIA) and 6 saves (2nd in NAIA). Her dominance helped keep SOU atop the NAIA rankings all season, as the team wrapped up conference play with a 23-4 record. She also earned CCC Pitcher of the Week honors seven times this season.

Klippert made an immediate impact in her debut season for Eastern Oregon, becoming a key contributor to the Mounties' lineup. The Puyallup, Wash., native finished the year ranked fourth in the CCC with an impressive .405 batting average.
Yeoman also stood out in her first year at Providence. The Florence, Mont., native placed eighth in the CCC, hitting .383 on the season.

In his 21st year as the helm of the OIT program, Greg Stewart led the Owls to its fourth consecutive regular-season conference championship. Oregon Tech has remained at the top of the NAIA rating all year. Under Stewart, OIT ranks second in the conference in batting average (.338), runs scored (319), hits (452), and RBIs (282). On the defensive side, the Owls lead the CCC by holding opponents to the lowest batting average (.203), recording the most strikeouts (306), posting the highest fielding percentage (.980), and committing the fewest errors (27). This will be the 11th straight year OIT has made a National Championship appearance. This marks his 11th time winning the CCC Coach of the Year honor.
