Mountaineers Top Marian in 8-0 run-rule victory in World Series

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Eastern Oregon grabbed another NAIA World Series win Saturday night, using a pair of four-run innings and a dominant pitching performance to rout Marian (Ind.) 8-0 in five innings.

The Mountaineers struck for four runs in the second and fifth innings, backing another shutdown outing from senior pitcher Kylie Parsons, who held the Knights to just two hits in a five-inning complete game shutout.

Raygun Klippert led the Mounties at the plate with a triple and three RBIs, while Kelly Monaghan racked up a two-run home run as part of EOU's second-inning breakout. Haley Tyree and Hannah Tyree each doubled and drove in a run, while Olivia Brown added a RBI sacrifice fly off the bench.

Parsons continued her postseason excellence, striking out six and allowing no walks or runs. She improved to 12 scoreless innings pitched across her last two outings.
Eastern Oregon outhit Marian 9-2 and played error-free defense. The Mounties stole two bases and stranded just three runners while capitalizing on nearly every scoring opportunity.
