Mountaineers fall to Oklahoma City, 3-1, in NAIA World Series Semifinal

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Eastern Oregon picked up its first postseason loss Tuesday afternoon as the Mountaineers fell 3-1 to Oklahoma City in the NAIA Softball World Series semifinal.

The Stars relied on clutch hitting and a strong pitching performance to hold off EOU. Emerson Heron limited the Mounties to one run on four hits, striking out five over 7 innings to earn the win.


Eastern Oregon tied the game 1-1 in the fourth on a solo home run by Emily Barry. However, Oklahoma City responded immediately in the top half of the fifth with a pair of runs, reclaiming a 3-1 lead.

Kylie Parsons took the loss in the circle for EOU, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out six.

Eastern Oregon continues its deepest postseason run in program history, reaching the national semifinals after earning four wins in Columbus.
