KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A successful first day of the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, was completed. The tournament resumes Saturday morning with the first two elimination games at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The two undefeated teams will face off at 2 p.m.
 
#4 seed University of British Columbia def. #5 seed College of Idaho, 8-4
Game 1: UBC won 8-4. British Columbia was led by a standout performance from Jessica Heutink, who went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run to spark the Thunderbirds' offense. Pitcher Shae Sever was equally impressive, earning the win after tossing 4.2 innings, allowing just four hits and striking out four batters. Sever also helped her own cause by blasting a home run in the sixth inning. UBC recorded 13 hits on one error. C of I tallied four hits on two errors. The Yotes were paced by Lena Zahniser, who drove in two of College of Idaho’s four runs in a determined effort. British Columbia advanced to game 3 where they will face the top-seeded Oregon Tech Owls later today. College of Idaho will play the loser of Game 4 in the second elimination matchup tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
 
#3 seed Eastern Oregon University def. #6 seed Carroll College, 3-0
Game 2: EOU won 3-0. The Mounties ace Kylie Parsons was lights-out in the circle, earning a two-hit shutout while striking out nine batters. At the plate, EOU made the most of their three hits. Raygun Klippert tallied two of them, while Maddie Durham came through in the first inning with a clutch two-run double that gave the Mounties the early lead they never relinquished. Sammie Labrum and Kati Slater each recorded a hit to pace the Fighting Saints. Eastern Oregon advanced to game 4 where they will face regular season co-champions, Southern Oregon later today. Carroll will play the loser of game 3 tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. in the first elimination game of the tournament.
 
#1 Oregon Tech def. #4 seed University of British Columbia, 5-4
Game 3: OIT won 5-4 in eight innings. Zoe Allen’s clutch two-out walk-off RBI single led to the extra inning victory. Jayce Seavert sparked the Owls’ offense, going 3-for-4 at the plate, while Alli Parker delivered in relief, retiring 8 of the 9 batters she faced to earn the win. OIT outhit UBC 10-9, with Keona Nordquist pacing the Thunderbirds going 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored. Oregon Tech advanced to face the winner of game 4 tomorrow at 2 p.m. British Columbia will battle Carroll College in the first elimination game tomorrow at 9 a.m.
 
#3 seed Eastern Oregon University def. #2 seed Southern Oregon University, 5-4
Game 4: EOU won 5-4 in eight innings. Eastern Oregon continued its strong tournament run with another victory over Southern Oregon. Madelyn Durham came up clutch once again, delivering a two-out RBI single in the top of the eighth inning to break the tie. Durham, Madison Olson, and Raygun Klippert each added three hits as the Mountaineers tallied 12 total hits and played flawless defense. Kylie Parsons earned her second win of the tournament, holding SOU scoreless over three innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two batters. Sarah Kerling paced the Raiders offensively with two hits and two RBIs in the narrow loss. Eastern Oregon advanced to face top-seeded Oregon Tech tomorrow at 2 p.m. Southern Oregon will take on College of Idaho in the 11:30 a.m. elimination game.
