CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference is pleased to announce the additional membership of Simpson University in the sport of softball starting in the 2026 season.
“It is exciting to welcome Simpson softball to the CCC as an associate member," stated Commissioner Robert Cashell. "Most of our schools have a history of competition with the Red Hawks, and adding another quality team to our league will make a positive impact."
Located in Redding, Calif., Simpson currently sponsors 22 varsity sports, including the men's and women's wrestling teams which have been associate members of the CCC since 2017 and 2020, respectively. The Beach Volleyball team joined this season, making softball the fourth Red Hawk program to participate in the CCC. Simpson softball just wrapped up its 17th year in the Cal Pac as they competed in the Continental Conference tournament in Lawrenceville, GA after capturing its ninth Cal Pac title.
Athletic Director, Rob Harley is excited to be joining one of the premier softball Conferences in the nation, "We are grateful for the opportunity and honored to have our softball program compete in the premier NAIA softball conference in the nation. Head Coach, Wayne Stower is excited for the new competition as well, "Looking forward to next-level play and good competition. It's exciting to be moving into one of the best softball conferences in the nation."
The Red Hawks look to compete against familiar teams as they played 13 games against Cascade opponents this past year; Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon University, Corban University, and Warner Pacific University.
