CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Bushnell University Volleyball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for August 11 – 17, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The Beacons opened the 2025 campaign in commanding fashion, sweeping three straight opponents to start off undefeated. On Friday, Bushnell defeated Arizona Christian University in straight sets (25-22, 28-26, 25-20), highlighted by a standout performance from Hailey Heider who posted 11 kills, 15 digs, and three service aces. The Beacons followed with another sweep later in the evening, downing Simpson University (25-15, 25-17, 25-14) behind a balanced attack that included contributions from Leah Agost, Soleil Sands, and Teagan Dixon.
Bushnell carried its momentum into Saturday with a decisive 3-0 victory over Park University Gilbert (Ariz.). The Beacons turned in their most efficient performance of the weekend, hitting .337 as a team and holding the Buccaneers to a .038 attack percentage. Agost led the way with 10 kills on a .471 hitting clip, while Heider matched her with 10 kills of her own and added three service aces. Setter Avery McCallister directed the offense with a match-high 18 assists as Bushnell completed the sweep with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-10.
With a perfect 3-0 start to the season, the Beacons established themselves as one of the early teams to watch in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Next up, Bushnell is headed to California next weekend to face more strong opponents in the Hope International Summer Slam.
