Eastern Goes Unbeaten at Big Sky Challenge

BUTTE, Mont. – No. 5 Eastern Oregon University will return home from the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge unbeaten after defeating Taylor University (Ind.) in four sets with scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.

After dropping a tight opening set, it was all EOU as the Mounties rebounded to take the next three-straight.

Eastern racked up 53 kills and hit .223 percent as a team, with Kiauna Mack's 15 kills leading the way. Brooke Womack and Keira Vaughn followed behind with 11 apiece.

Mack was just as dominant at the net, contributing five of EOU's eight total blocks. In the back row, Jaycee Villastrigo held down the defense with 16 digs.

The Mounties also unleashed 14 service aces, keeping the Trojans on their heels. Kate Stidham and Madison Vaughn each delivered four while Raiatea Campbell had three.

Now 4-0, Eastern will head to Omaha, Nebraska, for the College of Saint Mary's Labor Day Classic. They'll first square off against Benedictine University and No. 7 Northwestern College (Iowa) on Friday, August 29.
