Knights Send the Pioneers Back on the Trail Winning 2-0

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 28th, 2025

Redding, Calif.| The Warner Pacific Knights Women's Soccer squad played their first non-conference bout today against Pacific Union College and took the win by a final score of 2-0.

The Knights played Pacific Union on Simpson University's soccer pitch and just like last season started off with a win against the Pioneers to start 1-0. The game started quickly with the Knights getting on the board first with a goal sent in by Kiya Gramps who ended last year with 6 goals so she is starting this year right where she left off last season. It is Gramps' 13th goal as a Knight. The first goal of the game was assisted by Kelsey Cordon.

Not too long after Cordon garnished an assist on Gramps' goal, she put one in on her own just before halftime in the 39th minute. It was Cordon's first goal as a Knight and fourth in her collegiate career. The Knights defensively put on a show holding the Pioneers to just seven total shots including just three on goal. The Knights on the other hand more than doubled PUC in both categories with 15 total shots which included 10 of them on goal. The Knights committed their share of fouls with 11 which included a yellow card from Eileen Reyna which was the only card of the contest for both sides.

Next Up
The Knights move to 1-0-0 on the season and will look to finish the California road trip with a clean sweep tomorrow against Simpson University on the same field down in Redding.
