WPU Falls to Boxers in Opening Day Thriller

Forest Grove, Ore.| Warner Pacific Knights Volleyball started their 2025 campaign this morning in Forest Grove against Pacific University and lost in a five-set thriller.
 
The game went five total sets with final scores of each set being 25-23, 26-28, 25-21, 15-25, and 12-15. Warner Pacific was solid defensively with seven blocks and 85 digs. Junior Rogue Community College transfer, Naomi Johnson led the way in the block categories with two solo blocks and three block assists. Senior Angel Camagay led the team in digs with 15 followed by Multnomah transfer, JahNay Jardine who had 13 of her own. JahNay also led the team in kills with 16 big ones followed by another transfer Summer Martin who had eight of her own.
 
 Sophomore Madison Flores was very efficient today with her play adding five kills to the team's total in seven total attacks good enough for a team leading .714 kill percentage. The Knights had 44 total assists in the game. Chemeketa Community College transfer junior, Audrey Histed led the way in this category with 23 assists followed by junior Daisci Burrows who had 11.
 
Next Up
The Knights after just one non-conference game to start the season will begin conference play on September 4th at Corban University who is ranked third in the country in the preseason poll. First serve for this game is set for 6pm at C.E Jeffers Sports Center.
