Lensing leads all CCC players early in the non-conference schedule with four goals to start the season and is tied for 7th in the NAIA. Freshman Matea Vernon earned her second start of her early collegiate career and has saved all five shots she's faced to open the season. How it Happened The Battlin' Bears controlled possession in the first half, and despite not finding the net, outshot the Firestorm 11-4. Their defense was disciplined as well, limiting just one shot on frame through the first 45 minutes. Emma Lensing would tally the lone goal in the 57th minute of the match, as Ava Gibson fired a pass just outside of the box, which gave the senior forward an opportunity to break through the front line of the Firestorm defense and secure the eventual game-winning goal. In total, Rocky outshot ACU 19-10, including five-to-one on shots on goal. Emma Lensing led all players with six shot attempts and three shots on goal, one of which was a scored goal. Matea Vernon saved the only shot she faced on the evening, turning in a clean sheet for the second straight match. Scoring Summary 57' RMC - Emma Lensing (Ast.
