OMAHA, Neb. – Eastern Oregon University volleyball continued its undefeated streak at the CSM Labor Day Classic with two more victories on Saturday, upsetting No. 4 Concordia University in three sets and sweeping the tournament host, College of Saint Mary.
GAME ONE
The Mountaineers kick-started their day with a statement win over the fourth-ranked Bulldogs, taking the match with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-21.
EOU hit .234 percent with 47 total kills, led by Keira Vaughn and Kiauna Mack who racked up 11 each. Defensively, the Mounties recorded seven total blocks, also led by Mack. Brooke Womack posted a season-high 22 digs in the match, and Kate Stidham collected 23 assists.
GAME TWO
Eastern completed its fourth-straight sweep in the nightcap, defeating the Flames 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 on their home court. The Mountaineers controlled every aspect of the game, standing out with 50 kills and 12 total blocks.
Womack was the star of the show with a double-double for the second day in a row. She had 14 kills and 18 digs to lead EOU. Mack continued to impress with 11 kills and nine total blocks, while Stidham tallied 25 assists and three service aces.
UP NEXT
The Mounties have officially capped off preseason play, and will return home for a pair of Cascade Collegiate Conference matches next weekend. They first face The Evergreen State College on Friday at 6 p.m., then take on Northwest University on Saturday at 4 p.m.
