WALLA WALLA, Wash. — University of British Columbia Men’s Golf put together the best team round of the tournament and rallied to earn the Walla Walla Invitational Tournament victory at the first Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Tournament of the 2025-26 season.
Freshman Cayson VanBekum posted three birdies in the final four holes to distance himself from his three closest competitors and won the individual title with a tournament score of 14-under 202. Eddie Tache of Walla Walla went 7-under 65 in his final round, including an ace on No. 14 to shoot up to second place. Hunter Auramenko of British Columbia carded a 70 in the final round to finish 10-under on the tournament for third. Sondre Andresen of Lewis-Clark State took home fourth place at 9-under and Manny Lalh of the Thunderbirds wrapped up the top-five at 7-under.
The Thunderbirds trailed both Oregon Tech and Lewis-Clark State entering Tuesday, but shot a team score of 14-under 274 in the third round to post a total score of 839 to secure the victory. The Owls finished at 848 to lock in second place, the Warriors dropped to third at 291.
The host Walla Walla put together its best round of the tournament on the final day to jump to fourth place at 868. College of Idaho rounded out the top five with a team score of 877 and Southern Oregon finished in sixth at 879. Bushnell (880), Corban (886) and Warner Pacific (888) finished sixth through ninth respectively.
