Acker sets new WWU standard

COLFAX, Wash. — Isaac Acker set a school record in the Men's 8K at the WSU Cougar Classic on Friday.

Acker completed the race in 25 minutes and 29.5 seconds to finish in 46th place out of 123 runners from NCAA and the NAIA. The time by the sophomore was six seconds faster than what Spencer Glubay was able to record during the CCC Championship in 2019.

The sophomore beat his personal best time by over two minutes that he set last season. Acker ran a 27:34 in the Sasquatch Open in his freshman season.

"This was an absolutely huge performance for Isaac," coach Brady Svilich said. "Since last cross country season, he's done nothing but trained hard and given it everything he's got. The coaches and team couldn't be more proud of him."
The Wolves did not bring enough runners for a full team score, here are the other runners who competed on Friday:

Ethan Heisler completed the race in 26:28.5 and finished in 71st place. Ryan Rosaasen also competed with a time of 28:16.5 to take 111th.

Olivia Kreitner completed the Women's 6K race in 72nd of 81 racers with a time of 25:28.7. Jodi Adams finished 78th with a time of 26:53.9.
