CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following 11 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their performances during competition from September 8 – 14, 2025.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Oregon Tech’s Cayson VanBeekum was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
VanBeekum (65-68-69 – 202), a freshman from Ogden, Utah, won the first CCC Tournament of the season in Walla Walla, Washington. He set a new OIT 54-hole scoring record and tied the single-round program record of 65.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
University of British Columbia’s Keira Hou was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Hou (69-74 – 143), a sophomore from Richmond Hill, Ont., won the first CCC Tournament of the season in Walla Walla, Washington, also helping the Thunderbirds to a team title by 12 strokes. She won the individual title by three strokes and posted the only sub-70 round of the event.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
Southern Oregon University’s Carter Stedman was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Stedman, a junior from Roseburg, Ore., led the Raiders to a team victory at the Humboldt Invitational. He finished in second place out of 66 total runners with a personal best time of 24:45.77 in the 8k to earn his second straight race victory.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
Southern Oregon University’s Alyssa Johnson was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Johnson, a junior from Elmira, Ore., led the Raiders at the Humboldt Invitational. She finished in first place out of 36 total runners by 30 seconds to earn her second straight race victory with a time of 22:33.03 in the 6k.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Bushnell University’s William Haberfield was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Haberfield, a senior goalkeeper from Albury, Australia, anchored the Beacons defense during another shutout weekend. During both matches he played 164 minutes without allowing a goal while recording eight saves.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Bushnell University’s Omar Barajas was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Barajas, a junior forward from Portland, Ore., helped lead the Beacons to two more shutouts. He recorded three goals and three assists on a .857 shot on goal percentage. He currently leads the NAIA in points with 23 and ranks second in goals with nine.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Corban University’s Ava Hayes was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Hayes, a junior goalkeeper from Perth, Australia, recorded a pair of clean sheets for the Warriors. She played all 180 minutes with 10 saves and currently leads the CCC.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Oregon Tech’s Jaylee Curran was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Curran, a sophomore defender from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, performed dominantly all around. She assisted on two goals, including the game winner, as OIT earned a key regional win over (RV) Hope International University.
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kiauna Mack was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
Mack, a senior middle hitter from Puyallup, Wash., had another dominant weekend for the Mounties. She helped lead EOU to victories over (RV) Oregon Tech and No. 19-ranked Southern Oregon University. She tallied 26 kills over nine sets (2.89 k/s) on a .271 hitting percentage. She also added 18 blocks and three digs.
Volleyball – Defender
Bushnell University’s Kailey Shirley was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Shirley, a sophomore libero from Albuquerque, N.M., was instrumental in the Beacons' two victories over The Evergreen State College (3-0) and (RV) Northwest University (3-1). She totaled 30 digs across seven sets (4.29 d/s) and added two assists and a service ace.
Volleyball – Setter
No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kate Stidham was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
Stidham, a junior setter from Central Point, Ore., helped lead the Mounties to two CCC wins over (RV) Oregon Tech (3-2) and No. 19 Southern Oregon University (3-1). She dished out 61 assists (6.78 a/s) and added 18 digs (2.00 d/s) over nine sets.
