LE MARS, Iowa – Freshman Taylor Mire made an immediate impact when she joined No. 25 LC State Women's Golf, and the impact grew this week as the Sandpoint native led the Warriors women at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational. Mire tied for 14
th to lead the team to a sixth-place finish at Willow Creek Golf Course.
LC State shot 305 as a team to conclude its 54-hole tournament for a total of 35-over, 899. The Warriors finished 20 strokes ahead of seventh place Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.).
"The women struggled today, but a lot of positives to take from this event and we learned what we have to do to compete on the national level," coach Zach Anderson said. "Jane (Barry) and Taylor had a strong week and I'm very proud of how they kept up with the game plan."
Mire tied for 14
th in her second collegiate tournament with a three-round score of 5-over, 221. She shot rounds of 71-74-76. Sophomore Jane Barry tied for 17
th, two strokes behind Mire, with rounds of 73-71-79 for a total of 7-over, 223. The rounds of 71 for each tied for the best by a Warrior in the tournament.
Isabella Barquet bounced back with a 74 in her final round to tie for 24
th. She finished 14-over, 230 with rounds of 74-82-74.
Senior Dallis Shockey placed 30
th in the field of 42 with her best round of the tournament. She carded a 76 after rounds of 77-80 on Monday to finish 17-over, 233. Chase Caruso tied for 40
th with rounds of 83-74-82 for a total of 23-over, 239.

The Warrior women have a quick turnaround and are back in action at the Kalispel Invitational hosted by NCAA Division I Eastern Washington Sept. 22-23 in Spokane.
