CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech Women’s Soccer team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for September 15 – 21, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
OIT opened league play with a pair of victories to start off at 2-0 in conference and 6-1-1 overall to sit atop the standings.
The Owls started strong with a 2-1 comeback win over Northwest University, scoring twice in the final 35 minutes. Chloe Cook netted the equalizer off a pass from Jaylee Curran, before Claire Cowan scored the game-winner in the 76th minute on a pass from Sydney Soskis.
OIT followed with a 3-1 victory over The Evergreen State College, completing the weekend sweep and extending its win streak to four. Curran’s service on back-to-back corner kicks set up the first two goals, including a finish from Raeah Raymondo, while Cowan converted a breakaway in the second half for her third goal of the season.
The Owls dominated the stat sheet in both contests, highlighted by a 19-4 shot advantage and 10 corner kicks against Evergreen, and closed out their five-match homestand with a 4-0-1 record.
Up next, the Owls will face Southern Oregon University on Friday.
