KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Alauna Carstens ran away with the PLU Invitational Saturday, as The Evergreen State College junior was 30 seconds better than the next-nearest finisher to earn NAIA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 24.
Carstens, from Shelton, Wash., finished the 6K course in 21:19.9, and the second-place finisher crossed in 21:50.5.
Evergreen State gets a week off before resuming its season Oct. 4, at the 50th Annual Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational, in Salem, Ore.
