CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 20-ranked Oregon Tech Women’s Basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for December 29 – January 4, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Oregon Tech began 2026 with an impressive conference road sweep.
The Owls started the weekend with a big 88-54 victory over Walla Walla University on Friday. OIT shot 52 percent from the field and controlled the glass with a commanding 51-20 rebounding advantage. A 22-5 opening run set the tone as Tatum Schmerbach scored 16 of her game-high 24 points in the first half. All 11 players who suited up scored in the win, and Schmerbach added eight rebounds while extending her streak to 19 consecutive games with double-figure scoring.
Jozie Ramos recorded her second straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Olivia Sprague contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists as the Owls cruised to the conference victory.
Oregon Tech capped the weekend with a dramatic 65-62 upset at No. 15-ranked Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday night, securing the program’s first-ever victory on the Warriors’ home floor. With the score tied and one second remaining, Sprague buried a 30-foot buzzer-beating three-pointer to seal the win.
Ramos led OIT with 17 points and nine rebounds, Sprague added 13 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, and Avery Andrews chipped in eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Oregon Tech finished the contest with a 38-30 rebounding edge.
With the two road wins, OIT improved to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in CCC play. Next up, the Owls will host undefeated (RV) Eastern Oregon University on Friday in another big conference matchup.
