Yotes Sweep Warner Pacific to Move to 16-1

PORTLAND, Ore. - The College of Idaho swept Warner Pacific 25-13, 25-17, 25-23 in a conference volleyball match Thursday night at CC Perry Gymnasium.

The Yotes hit .267 to Warner Pacific's .117 and held the home team to .069 hitting in the first set.

The first set was tied 8-8 before the Yotes outscored Warner Pacific 11-1. Keylee Wilson had five kills in that stretch, and Avery Lewis served seven straight points to make it 19-9 and force a Warner Pacific timeout. Julia Baird added two kills late, and Cooper Nave closed the set with an ace.

The College of Idaho led 9-3 early in the second and stretched the margin to 15-7. Warner Pacific won three straight points to get within 22-16, but Carolina Moreno-Rubio had two kills in the last four rallies, including the set winner.

Warner Pacific played its closest set in the third, but the Yotes finished it 25-23 to complete the sweep.

Addison McKarcher led the Yotes with 10 kills and no errors on 13 attacks (.769) and added three block assists. Cora Young had nine kills at .400, Baird had seven on nine swings (.667), and Wilson added seven. Shaynee McWilliams had 14 assists and Whitney Pierzga 11. Lewis led the defense with eight digs, and Nave served three aces.

Tayah-Anne Toa led Warner Pacific with eight kills. Daisci Burrows added five kills, five assists and seven digs, Amor Rapoza had 12 assists, and Maya Moreno had seven digs.

The College of Idaho improves to 16-1 overall and 9-1 in conference play. Warner Pacific falls to 0-10 and 0-9.
