Offense Explodes for First Win of 2026-2027

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Bushnell University men's basketball team picked up their first win of the season and remain undefeated all-time against the University of Providence after picking up a 96-92 victory over the Argos on Friday night.

The Beacons (1-1) shot 44% in the contest, hit 11 three-pointers, and held back a strong Providence push late in the game as they shot 75% at the free-throw line. Bushnell earned 37 points off the bench and scored 19 second-chance points off 14 offensive rebounds.

Kaleb Burnett led the team in scoring once again, posting a game-high 24 points on an impressive 10-for-14 shooting night, adding eight rebounds. He said, "After our game against Carroll, coach told us to work on not playing as selfish, and to have better spacing offensively and it translated today pretty well. We were aggressive and played like ourselves."

Freshman Drew Groenig (pictured) hit four three-pointers and scored 14 points while Keenan Reckamp added 12 points. Keshawn Lewis and Rylan Donovan posted nine points each with Donovan leading the team with nine boards.

Donovan said, "We came ready to play today. All 12 guys showed up to compete and we trusted each other and just played hard from start to finish."

Providence (0-1) shot 59% from the floor and out-rebounded the Beacons 34-31. The Argos were led by Quinn Swanson with 23 points while Jai Ackey earned a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds.

Up Next: Bushnell remains in Great Falls for a neutral site contest against Montana State Northern on Saturday at 1:00 pm (MT).
