CCC Men's Wrestling Championship – Day One

SALEM, Ore. – (Day One Results) The first day of the 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, delivered a full slate of exciting and hard-fought matches.
 
(Team ScoresNo. 6 Southern Oregon University (SOU) leads all teams with 73 total points. No. 12 University of Providence (UP) follows with 56.5 points. No. 19 Arizona Christian University (ACU) was next, earning 53.5 points with No. 23 Corban University (CRB) right behind totaling 51 points. No. 9 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) rounded out the top five with 48.5 points. No. 23 Eastern Oregon University (EOU) secured 38 points and (RV) Montana State University-Northern (MSUN) earned 36.5 points to land at seventh. (RV) Simpson University (SU) holds the eighth spot with 18.5 points and Westcliff University (WU) follows totaling 17.5 points. (RV) The Evergreen State College (TESC) and Hope International University (HIU) round out the teams with 8 and 6.5 points, respectively.
 
125lbs- Top seeded Landon Smith (ERAU) had a first round bye before defeating his opponent by major decision (15-2). Tomorrow he will face Christophe Calderon (WU) who also received a first round bye before defeating his opponent by technical fall.
 
Kobi Johnson (UP) defeated his opponents by 7-2 decision and 12-3 major decision. Tomorrow he will face Isaac Hampton (SOU) who earned a sudden victory after taking a first round bye.
 
133lbs- Top seeded Braden Carson (EOU) advanced by pin and will face Blake Woolsey (UP) tomorrow who defeated his opponent by 7-5 decision.
 
Jason Ramirez (ACU) earned a 13-6 decision. In the semifinals he will face Kai Carson (EOU) who received a bye.
 
141lbs- Blake Runion (CRB) defeated his opponent by pin before upsetting the top seed by major decision (13-3). Tomorrow he will face Tyler Rhue (SOU) who advanced by pin, 5-1 decision and 5-2 decision.
 
Dylan Clark (SOU) received a bye before upsetting higher seeded opponents by 7-6 decision and sudden victory. He will face Horacio Godinez (TESC) who went unscathed with a 11-0 major decision and a 4-0 decision after a first round bye.
 
149lbs- Carlos Stanton (ACU) earned a pin in less than 30 seconds before upsetting the top seeded wrestler by technical fall. Tomorrow he will face Bo Davis (CRB) who received a bye before taking a 5-4 decision.
 
Cole Cross (EOU) came out with 7-3 and 4-1 decision victories to make it to the semifinals where he will compete against Jr Downing (CRB) who earned a sudden victory and 9-6 decision.

157lbs- Top seeded Avant Stepherson (SOU) advanced by pin after a first round bye. Tomorrow, he will wrestle Ryan Graves (MSUN) who defeated his two opponents by pin and 17-11 decision.
 
The Argos will face off as teammates Irish Furthmyre and Hunter Hobbs of Providence advanced to the semifinals. Furthmyre earned a pin and 11-6 decision while Hobbs received a first round bye before securing a major decision (10-0).
 
165lbs- Top seeded Justin Windauer (MSUN) and Blaze Sumiye (UP) will compete in the semifinals after defeating their opponents by technical fall and 7-3 decision, respectfully.
 
Jalen Vladic (UP) and Jayden Luttrell (ERAU) will compete in the semifinals after defeating their opponents by 6-5 decision and pin, respectfully.
 
174lbs- Top seeded Leonardo Galasso (ACU) and Braylin Ruchti (SOU) each received first round byes before defeating their opponents by technical fall and major decision (12-1), respectively. They will face off tomorrow with the winner competing in the championship match.

Orion Thivierge (MSUN) earned a pin and 8-6 decision. He will compete against Daniil Gorshkov (ERAU) who won his match by technical fall.
 
184lbs- Top seeded Adrian Chavez-Morales (SOU) advanced by pin. Bronson Swan (ACU) won by major decision (9-0). The two will compete tomorrow with the winner making it to the championship match.
 
Cade Gubler (MSUN) clinched a sudden victory. Isaiah Twait (CRB) secured a major decision (8-0). The two will compete tomorrow with the winner making it to the championship match.
 
197lbs- Top seeded Asher Ruchti (SOU) won by technical fall. Tomorrow he will compete against David Rapp (SU), who won by pin and 9-7 decision, in the semifinals.
 
Trenton Blomquist (ERAU) took a bye and forfeit. He will compete in his first match of the championship against  Elias Corona (SOU) who won by major decision (8-0) and pin.

285lbs- Top seeded Antonio Garcia (CRB) advanced by pin and forfeit. Tomorrow he will face Shane Mattson (MSUN) who clinched his match by sudden victory.
 
Nico Rodriguez (EOU) advanced by 7-4 decision while Kenneth Copley (ERAU) advanced by 10-5 decision. The two will face off in the semifinals for the second consecutive year.
 
Day two of the CCC Men's Wrestling Championship will start at 10 a.m. (PT), with the championship matches scheduled for 5 p.m.

Along with the team title to crown the 2026 CCC Men’s Wrestling Champion, tomorrow’s action will determine the individual champions. The top three finishers in each weight class will earn All-Conference honors and national qualifiers will be finalized. The tournament will also recognize an Outstanding Wrestler and Conference Coach of the Year. Wrestler of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Freshman of the Year will be announced after the National Championship.
