CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 2-ranked Southern Oregon University Beach Volleyball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 30 – April 5, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
SOU earned the honor for the second consecutive week after completing a historic regular season and capturing its first CCC Championship Title.
The Raiders extended their winning streak to 12, finishing the regular season 16-2 overall and 14-1 in conference play. Southern Oregon opened the week with a dominant 5-0 sweep of Northwest University, dropping just one set across all five matchups. Four pairs earned straight set victories, while the No. 2 duo of Molly Grace and Kira Sandoval battled back from a first-set loss to win in three. The No. 5 pair of Natalie Perez and Kendal Hadwick continued their dominant stretch, remaining unbeaten since February.
SOU carried that momentum into Saturday with a 5-0 sweep of College of Idaho. The Raiders did not drop a set in the dual and controlled every match, highlighted by decisive wins from the top three pairs of Tessa Zimmermann/Grace Gulbrandsen, Grace/Sandoval, and Andressa Ribeiro Soares/Maelle Garon.
Southern Oregon capped the weekend with another 5-0 sweep of Northwest to clinch the CCC title outright. The Raiders lost just one set across three duals, showcasing depth and consistency throughout the lineup. Moffat and Kaitlyn Shilling rebounded from a first set loss in their final match with a dominant 21-6, 15-1 finish to secure the point.
With the three victories, Southern Oregon secured its first conference championship and earned the right to host the CCC Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, on April 9 and 10.
