KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Day one of the 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, wrapped up after exciting games. Action resumes Saturday morning with the first two elimination games at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., followed by a matchup of the two remaining undefeated teams at 2 p.m.

No. 5 seed College of Idaho def. No. 4 seed University of British Columbia, 5-2
College of Idaho outscored British Columbia 5-2 in the first game of the CCC Championship Tournament. Both teams recorded eight hits and one error with each side scoring in the second inning. The Yotes used a three run third inning to take control, highlighted by a Madelyn Powell double to right center. UBC responded in the bottom half with a home run from Lauren Hounsell, but C of I added an insurance run in the fifth on an RBI from Isabella Fazzio. Powell led the Yotes with two hits, one run, and one RBI. Kina Watts earned the win in the circle, tossing 4.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Tegan Harnett drew three walks to pace the Thunderbirds. College of Idaho advanced in the winners bracket to face Oregon Tech in game three while British Columbia will play the loser of game four (Eastern Oregon) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
No. 3 seed Southern Oregon University def. No. 6 seed Simpson University, 13-2
Southern Oregon won against Simpson with a final score of 13-2 in five innings during game two of the CCC Softball Championship Tournament. The Raiders dominated offensively, outhitting the Red Hawks 14-4 while blasting three home runs. SOU jumped out early with three runs in the first inning before erupting for nine runs in the second to take control. Vanessa Lang sparked the offense with a triple in the opening inning while Ari Williams capped the scoring with a home run in the third. Kalea Thomas led the Raiders with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, adding two runs and an RBI. Elysia Duarte was also perfect, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Ayla Davies earned the win in the circle, striking out three batters over four innings. Adriana Delaney recorded an RBI single to pace the Red Hawks. Southern Oregon advanced in the winners bracket to face No. 2 seed Eastern Oregon in game four. Simpson will play the loser of game three (College of Idaho) tomorrow at 9 a.m.
No. 1 seed Oregon Tech def. No. 5 seed College of Idaho, 1-0
Oregon Tech edged College of Idaho by one run in game three of the CCC Softball Championship Tournament. In a tightly contested matchup, the Owls outhit the Yotes 5-4 and pushed across the lone run in the third inning. Nita Cook singled and later scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Puakea Milbourne to give OIT the lead. Leah Huffman led the Owls at the plate, reaching base in all three appearances with two hits and a walk. Kristine Schmidt tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits and striking out four batters. Chloe Flerchinger paced C of I with a double. Oregon Tech advanced in the winners bracket and will now face the winner of game four (Southern Oregon) tomorrow at 2 p.m. College of Idaho moves to the elimination bracket to play Simpson tomorrow at 9 a.m.
No. 3 seed Southern Oregon University def. No. 2 seed Eastern Oregon, 4-1
Southern Oregon defeated Eastern Oregon to advance in the CCC Softball Championship Tournament. The Raiders struck first in the second inning as Ari Williams doubled and later scored to give SOU the early lead. After several scoreless frames, SOU added three insurance runs in the sixth to pull away. Kalea Thomas led the Raiders with two hits, while Brooke Nordahl drove in two runs. Ayla Davies earned another win in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing just one earned run and striking out three batters. Emily Barry paced the Mounties with two hits. Southern Oregon advanced in the winners bracket and will face top seed Oregon Tech tomorrow at 2 p.m. Eastern Oregon drops to the elimination bracket and will take on British Columbia at 11:30 a.m.
