KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech and Stilwell Stadium were one of 10 sites selected today to host the Opening Round of the NAIA Softball National Championship, with games set to be play May 11-14.
It marks the fifth-straight year the Lady Owls will host an Opening Round site and the sixth time in program history – with Tech earning an automatic bid to the NAIA Championships due to the site selection.
OIT will join rival Southern Oregon as the two West Coast sites, with Fayette, Mo. (Central Methodist), Williamsburg, Ky. (Cumberlands), Columbia, Ky. (Lindsey Wilson), Mobile, Ala. (Mobile), Oklahoma City, Okla. (Oklahoma City), Chickasha, Okla. (Science & Arts), Lakeland, Fla. (Southeastern) and Hattiesburg, Miss. (William Carey) rounding out the field.
The 48-team national tournament field will be announced at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, with eight 5-team brackets and two 4-team brackets to be determined. The winners of the 10 sites will advance to the NAIA Softball World Series, set for May 21-27, in Columbus, Ga.
